DISCIPLESHIP

THE GREAT COMMISSION

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”MATTHEW 28: 16-20

                      What is Discipleship?

Discipleship is the transformative journey of following Jesus Christ. It is characterized by a deepening relationship with Him, a growing understanding of His teachings, and a commitment to embodying His love and values in every aspect of life.

Discipleship is not merely the acquisition of knowledge or adherence to a set of religious practices but a holistic process of spiritual formation and personal growth. It involves surrendering one's own will to God's will, allowing His truth to shape one's beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors.

Discipleship is marked by humility, obedience, and a willingness to be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

At its core, discipleship is about becoming more like Jesus, walking in His footsteps, and participating in His mission to reconcile the world to God.

Why is discipleship important in everyday life?

Discipleship is vital in everyday life because it provides a framework for living out our faith authentically and intentionally. By engaging in discipleship, we continuously deepen our relationship with God, allowing His truth to permeate every aspect of our existence. Through discipleship, we learn to navigate life's challenges with wisdom and grace, drawing upon the teachings of Jesus as our guide. It equips us to love and serve others selflessly, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Discipleship empowers us to live with purpose and meaning, aligning our priorities with God's kingdom values. Ultimately, discipleship is the pathway to spiritual growth, transformation, and a life that reflects the glory of God in all we do.

We invite you to join our community and experience the transformative power of discipleship, if not for you can become a sponsor for the program.

MIGHTY WARRIORS DISCIPLES

Discipleship is the foundation of our Christian ministry. We believe that it is essential to teach, lead, and model the ways of Christ in order for believers to grow in their faith and relationship with God. Our Mighty Warriors Discipleship program aims to provide guidance through biblical teachings, mentoring, and life-application lessons.

A disciple is a person who

  • Trust Jesus so much that they pledge their total allegiance (called “faith”) to Him,

  • Imitates Jesus’ life completely as both their teacher and lord,

  • Looks to Jesus’ teachings as the basis of moral decision-making,

  • Loves Jesus so much that love spills over into every other relationship as well, and

  • Forms their life around Jesus Christ.

  • Goes and makes discipleship that makes discipleship.

1.A Disciple is Patient, Kind, and Gentle

The Bible tells us that God is patient with us, slow to anger, and abounding in love (Psalm 86:15). Consequently, the Bible also calls us to be patient, kind, and gentle. We do this by bearing HIS fruit in our lives (Galatians 5:22). When we allow His fruit to grow in our lives, our actions naturally become more patient, kind, and gentle.
2.  A Disciple Lives a Life that is Submitted to God’s Will.

The Bible reflects God's clear plan for humanity and his commitment to it (Philippians 1:6). Christ's life and death fulfilled this plan. As He resonates through his disciples, they will begin to let Christ become ruler over every aspect. Wasteful living is rejected, and daily activities are carried out with the purpose of serving God.

3. A Disciple Lives a Sacrificial Life on Behalf of Others.

Christ gave up everything to be the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation. The Bible calls us to be living sacrifices (Romans 12:1). This means being willing to give up our desires, dreams, and comforts to be a blessing to others instead. There have been many examples in history of disciples showing this sacrificial love to violent people whose lives completely changed. They also saw their need for that kind of sacrificial love.

4. A Disciple Works Diligently

It is Biblically true that we are all saved by grace and not by works (Ephesians 2:9). It is also true that our works are an indication of our salvation (James 2:18). Good works do not save us. But, if we are saved, we will do good work. This is also true in our willingness to work. There is a big difference between resting in the Lord and laziness. Laziness can be defined as not being willing to work. Whereas resting in God is finding the strength in Him to be able to work and work well. A disciple will still work to earn a living and be willing to work hard as a blessing to others.

5. A Disciple Embraces the Good in Others.

In our human nature, we are often quick to judge. How often to we place labels & expectations on others?. Through Christ, we should be ready to believe the change in others. It's always helpful to remember the changes God has caused in us. The Bible calls us to always look for the good in others. Just as, in fact, God always saw the potential in us (Ephesians 4). Remember Jonah? He’s described as having an attitude contrary to God’s attitude toward the people of Nineveh. Nevertheless, God worked powerfully in him and THROUGH him! God saw Jonah’s potential even when Jonah was not living up to that potential. We need God’s grace to be able to see the potential in others.

At Mighty Warriors Ministry, we believe that the five characteristics of a disciple of God are essential for anyone who desires to live fully in Christ. As we strive to become true disciples, we strive to reflect the qualities of God Himself.
